Oil Change Action Campaign Manager Collin Rees said:
“We endorsed Graham Platner based on his public positions on climate and his promise to be a champion for working families. We take these new allegations seriously and believe survivors. In light of these developments, Oil Change Action is rescinding our endorsement and calling on Platner to withdraw from the race.
“Maine’s Democratic leadership should move quickly to nominate a candidate who can unite voters around a bold progressive vision that includes a just transition away from fossil fuels, an economy where working people can thrive, and standing up to Trump’s attacks. People around the country are looking at Maine to defeat Susan Collins, build a progressive majority in our Senate, and help protect our democracy at a pivotal moment. We will evaluate any future endorsement based on those same principles.”
